8月16日、ぎふ県と さいたま県で 最高気温が 40.9度を 記録 しました。これは 日本の 過去最高気温です。これまでの 過去最高は 1993年、7月25日、やまがた県の 40.8度でした。8月に なってから、日本各地は 猛暑に なりました。東京でも 毎日 35度 以上の 日が 続きました。
